Disclaimer

It should be painfully obvious. It’s painful to me that I even have to think about this. But I suppose I do.

This site is in no way affiliated with YouTube, or its parent company (that would be Google), or anyone else affiliated with anything whatsoever. I have no affiliation with any of these bands, although I’ve seen a few of them perform live and exchanged a couple of letters with Dave Stewart (the prog guy, not the Eurythmics guy) back in college.

This is a completely not-for-profit site; I’m not even running any Google ads — although maybe I should, because they’d profit from the deal a lot more than I would. The objective here is solely to spread awareness of obscure progressive rock musicians. An implicit corollary, though, which also should be obvious, is that YouTube is freakin’ cool. So, YouTube guys, you know… be cool.

Speaking of YouTube… all of the videos you see on this site are being served up from there, but all I did was search for them. None of the videos were put on YouTube by me. I’m so passive in this that I even talk that way. So if you’re an artist (or more likely, an IP lawyer) itching to sue, I didn’t have anything to do with it. But all of this also means that if the IP lawyers hunt down and coerce YouTube or its users to remove infringing videos that I’ve linked to, they’ll become inaccessible here too, and after being at it for a couple of months (as I’m writing this), I’ve already witnessed the removal of a handful of featured videos, pretty much all by King Crimson. (Fine… if Robert Fripp doesn’t want readers of this blog to understand King Crimson’s vital position in the prog rock galaxy, so be it… now they’re the big black hole at its core.)

That is all.
